Another Delightful Romance from the Queen of Romantic Comedy
Katie Fisher is ecstatic. Pro basketball star Brady James has proposed, and she can't wait to start planning their life together. She's confident she'll make it down the aisle this time--but it still may be easier said than done. A high-society Houston bride has Katie and the Cosmopolitan Bridal team scrambling to get the perfect dress done in time for her spectacular wedding. Meanwhile, Katie finds herself bombarded with everyone's competing visions regarding her own special day--and she's beginning to worry that her own ideas will get lost in the crossfire. Will she ever manage to settle all of the details for her perfect day? Or will bridal shop chaos and overzealous friends and family make a mess of everything? Fan favorite Janice Thompson gives readers what they've been clamoring for: another funny, romantic romp with a Texas twang.

Interview #1 with Janice Thompson,
Author of Every Bride Has Her Day
How has being a Texan influenced your writing?
Is this a trick question?! Being a Texan is one of my primary influences! I’m an all-things-Texas girl, through and through. If I could set every one of my books in the Lone Star State, I’d do it. Texas has enough terrain to satisfy the masses: everything from East Texas pines to West Texas mountains, from North Texas tumbleweeds to South Texas beaches. And talk about culture! We’ve got it all! You can line-dance your way across Dallas, dine at amazing restaurants in Houston, float down the Comal River on a inner-tube in New Braunfels, hike in Big Bend park, watch outdoor musicals at Palo Dura Canyon, and host the wedding of the century at hundreds—if not thousands—of places across the state.
How long have you been writing?
I wrote my first book in 6th grade. I’d been reading The Bobbsey Twins books and ran out of stories, so I wrote one, myself. My journey toward publication didn’t begin until the 1990s. I started writing “real books” in ’94 and published my first novel in 2000. Those first six years were truly magical. I loved every second of my writing journey (sans the rejection letters).
Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre?
For years I wrote inspirational romance. Then, in 2005, things took a turn. I’d always struggled to “hide” my humorous side, but it kept leaking out. I finally gave up and added full-out humor to my stories. Making the switch to first person helped a lot. I find myself free as a bird when I’m writing in first person. The humorous bits roll out when I least expect them to!
Where did your love of books/storytelling/reading/writing/etc. come from?
My mom is an avid reader and my father (who passed away in 2006) was a story-teller (both in film and in country-western song). I learned from the masters!
Is there one subject you would never write about as an author? What is it?
I’m a caregiver for my mom who has Alzheimer’s/Dementia. I don’t think I could do the topic justice since I’m in the throes of it every day. Perhaps one day I’ll be able to tackle it, but using my humorous voice might be problematic. I would worry that readers might be offended by the addition of humor to such a serious situation.
What projects are you working on at the present?
I’m revising Bella (from the Weddings by Bella series) in a host of novellas. I’m having a blast spending time with the Rossi and Neeley clans once more.
Janice Thompson is an expert at pulling the humor from the situations we get ourselves into and offers an inside look at the wedding business, drawing on her own experiences as a wedding planner. She is the author of the hugely popular Weddings by Bella series, the Backstage Pass series, and the Weddings by Design series, as well as Every Bride Needs a Groom and Every Girl Gets Confused. She lives in Texas.
