LOVE M.D. BY REBECCA ROHMAN BLOG TOUR: Love M.D. by Rebecca Rohman Front Cover 600DPI Rebecca Roman Logo Website Title: Love M.D. Author: Rebecca Rohman Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance with Elements of Suspense Release Date: Tuesday, February 24, 2015         ★ LOVE M.D. SYNOPSIS As an accomplished interior designer in San Francisco’s Bay Area, Zoe Jenkins is used to transforming empty spaces into masterpieces. She leaves little square footage in her personal life for anything outside of her thriving business and a renewed relationship with her twin brother. After a decade spent ripped apart by circumstance and an entire ocean’s distance she depends on no one but him. Until a sexy surgeon walks into her life. Although Zoe can’t deny her attraction to the charming and benevolent Morgan Drake, he’s on her mental list of everything she should avoid. Past experience taught Zoe that dating clients compromises business. Add a not-yet-dissolved marriage to the mix and Doctor Hottie is definitely Doctor Off-limits. Dr. Morgan Drake is surprised at the undeniable chemistry he feels when he’s in the same room as Zoe. The strikingly beautiful and introverted designer he hired to fill his new-start, new-city home makes it abundantly clear there will never be anything between them. But twelve years of medical school breeds persistence. He sets out to pursue the pants off Zoe Jenkins and show her what her empty spaces are missing. But intense passion and amazing sex have a way of masking secrets—secrets that unravel a dangerous web of drugs, fraud and corruption that turn Zoe’s empty, quiet spaces into a world where nothing is as it seems. With her life on the line, the good doctor responsible for her fiercest betrayal might just be the only one worthy of her finest interior masterpiece—this time, of her heart.   ★ ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rebecca Roman Emblem White High ResolutionRebecca Rohman, is a wife and designer currently living in the Northeastern United States. Her second novel Love, Lies & The D.A. was released in February, 2014. Love M.D. is her third novel.   ★ MY REVIEW ★★★★★ Where to start? Wow! This book definitely delivers. It gives you a bit of everything, and keeps you on edge. The emotions it pulls from you are strong. Heck, I am still reeling. I will say the drama and suspense where killing. You want a book that keeps you wondering what will happen next, than don't miss out on this one. Oh, and if you love, hot, steamy sex scenes? This book will deliver. Doctor Drake (I like this name) and Zoë sure know how to please each other and don't hide the sexual tension and enjoy the build up. I loved who strong willed Morgan Drake is, and his determination to show her that he could be everything she needs is amazing. We all find ourselves looking and hoping to find a man like him. Such devotion even when the women is set on it failing is amazing. Zoë had me bit annoyed with her fear of letting others in, but as her story unfolds you can't help but understand her more. Many of us have been hurt in the pass to allow it to have such a huge impact in our lives. Yet even with such restraint she allowed things to progress between Doctor Drake and herself. Yet keeping true to herself. Sometimes we have to give a little to gain a lot. However what touched me the most was the love and devotion she has for her brother. We all fear losing a loved one, and when it might the last one we have the fear is tenfold. Their story definitely grabs you, reels you, and will have you crying. Such reality can be seen through the words even knowing they are characters I couldn't help but find myself grieving like the characters. Hoping and wanting the same outcomes you can see them wishing for. I found myself crying for many reasons through it the story, and sad when it ended. I loved all the characters, and their is one in particular I hope will her happily ever after. I am glad I got the chance to read Morgan and Zoë story. Definitely a book that once you get into it, you will not want to put down.       Love M.D. by Rebecca Rohman Sexy 8   ★ EXCERPT The next morning, I wake to an empty bed. I slip on some panties and one of Morgan’s shirts and head downstairs in search of him. Peaches and Pixie bask in the sun by the pool, watching him as he swims. He’s already made a pot of coffee, so I pour myself a cup and sit outside on one of the Adirondack chairs facing the pool. My crew comes to greet me, but Morgan is engrossed in his swimming and does not appear to notice me. I suspect this might be part of his daily routine—his body contours tell me that. He looks up, and a broad smile stretches across his face when he sees me. His hair lies all back as he propels his body out of the water by his palms. “Good Morning,” I say. “Good morning to you, too.” He kisses me and wraps a nearby towel around his hips. “Hungry? I was going to make you some breakfast.” “Maybe a little,” I respond. “Good, because I prepared everything already,” he says, stretching out his hands to help me up. “I just need to fix the eggs.” In the kitchen, as he scrambles eggs on the stovetop, I circle my arms around his almost naked body from behind. He switches off the stove and turns to face me. “Did you sleep well?” “A little. It was more than the last few weeks, so I guess that’s a step in the right direction.” He raises my body and places me on the island, pecking me softly on the lips. “I could prescribe something to help you get some rest, or I can recommend something herbal. You hardly sleep anymore.” “I know. Maybe in a few days if things don’t improve.” “Let’s go on a trip somewhere. It’ll take your mind off things.” “We’ll see. Jada invited us to go on a getaway with their family. I don’t know the specifics yet, but I think it might be a good idea.” “Let me know as soon as you have the details so I can make sure my shifts are covered. It’s easier to change things around at the clinic. I want to see you smile again.” He kisses me softly on my neck and my lips, and I’m surprised when I feel the need for more than just his sweet caress. Circling him in my arms, I slowly part my lips, and feel his tongue gently graze mine. I pull him closer by the towel that surrounds his hips and slip my hands over his groin. “I miss you,” I whisper. “I miss you too, baby.” I’ve woken him and as I massage his arousal, I take pleasure at the feel of his hands roaming over my body. He lifts his shirt over my head before slipping his tongue into my mouth. I pull the towel away and push his trunks down as far as I can stretch. With my foot, I shove them further until they drop to the floor. He kicks them away while I glide my hands over his rock-hard erection. “How do you want it?” he asks. “Go down on me,” I reply, deepening our kiss. “Then I want you to screw me from behind.” He places one of my legs on the countertop and slips the fabric of my thong to the side. I welcome the feel of his fingers slipping between my folds as he circles them above and inside me. As he devours my lips, I relish the feel of his firm body against my palms. He lowers his head, planting soft kisses on my neck, then he circles my breasts. Moments later, he pulls my panties away. He lowers his head and teases me with kisses circling my core. With his tongue, he starts a pleasurable onslaught of licking and sucking my clit, intermittently and forcefully moving his fingers over me. The heat rises between my thighs but I pull away, reserving my release. “Oh God, babe. I need you inside me.” He pulls me off the counter and turns me around so my back is to his front. He places one of my thighs on the surface, pinning it in place with his arm then he slowly enters me from behind. Slowly, slowly moving in and out of me. “Zoë, you feel incredible,” he whispers, nibbling my ear. With his fingers, he begins an endless assault on my front. “Oh Jesus, Morgan…harder,” I cry as my body becomes submerged in pure sexual pleasure. Bending me over the counter, he gives me what I crave, what I so desperately desire. “Oh yes, Morgan.” My knees go weak. I know I’m close to losing all control. “No way, not yet,” he says, slipping out of me. Holding my hand, he walks me to the living room sofa. He sits, centering his body in the middle, leaning back. I’m about to straddle him when he stops me. “Come here, baby. I want to taste you all over again.” He raises my leg above his shoulder, and places it on the back of the couch. He sits up, and with two fingers, repeatedly penetrates me and unleashes his tongue over me again. Tingling sensations exude through my thighs. “Oh God, yes, babe.” I tighten my grip on his hair, basking in the pleasure that he is so eager to give me. Finally, he relents, and I lower my body over his erection. I move slowly and sensually over his arousal, grinding my hips into his. He sits up and clasps his hands in mine as I rotate my body over his. Sounds of raw sex fills the room—the continuous sounds of his reentry, the sexual cries that escape my lips, his labored breathing and groans as I bury him inside me. “Yes, Zoë, yes,” he says, holding me by my hips, slamming me firmly above him and taking over my lips once more. Sitting back, I repeatedly pound my hips into his, while circling my core with my fingers. “Oh fuck, Zoë,” he shouts then pulls me close in his arms, boring inside me. I feel him continuously spasm, and as I rapidly continue to circle my pleats, I join him in his prolonged release. I lay with my head against his chest, breathing heavily. We relax while he folds me in his arms and kisses me tenderly on my lips. I can’t help but get distracted and erupt in laughter when Peaches sits watching me, slowly twisting her head as if she’s utterly confused. “What’s so funny?” “We have an audience,” I laugh. Now Pixie has joined her, too. He sits up, “What? They never saw you have sex before?” “No, they’re virgins. We’re corrupting my poor animals.” “That must have been quite the show.” I coil on top of him, and it is while I’m there that I realize today, for the first time in almost three weeks, I laughed. “I’ve missed hearing you laugh.” I kiss him again. I don’t want to think about why I’ve not been able to laugh.   Love M.D. by Rebecca Rohman Sexy 5 ★ LOVE M.D. SOUNDTRACK

Fiore-WaitingForTheOne-19857-CV-FT-V4Synopsis:

Lark O'Bannion learned early that life isn't really like a fairy tale. Parents don't always love their children unconditionally, damsels, or even terrified and lonely little girls, are usually left to deal with their distress alone, Prince Charming rarely, if ever, comes riding to the rescue, and happily-ever-afters are a lovely concept but, in reality, are few and far between. When Sebastian Ross rolls into her life on his Harley, with his dark beauty and inked skin, Lark is willing to admit that maybe she doesn't know as much as she thinks she does.

Sebastian Ross wants nothing more than to get out from under the control of his parents and their desire to force him into a mold. Changing schools in his senior year isn't an act of rebellion but his attempt to take control of his life by following his own path. One look into Lark O'Bannion's emerald-green eyes, though, and control is taken out of Bastian's hands and he will discover that the only path he wants to follow is the one that leads to her.

Excerpt

Dan, my sister, my family, they had all abandoned me, they had all forgotten about me and I felt very alone. I watched people, couples holding hands, families playing together and the pain I felt inside intensified. I was on my own and I had to make the best of it. I didn’t leave the park, opting to lie on a bench once the night fell. It was a mistake. At night the drunks came and I guessed the bench belonged to one when he grabbed hold of my jacket and dragged me off. I landed in a heap on the ground. He was rambling, something about the war.

“Fuck off,” he growled.

“I’m sorry,” I said as I scrambled to my feet. I headed for a small wooded area, slid down a tree and waited for the morning.

The days had melded into each other, I lost track of what day of the week it even was. I only knew it was the weekend because the streets were less busy with suited people scurrying to and from work. The weekends were the hardest because that’s when I would see families, moms and sons walking and laughing, brothers and sisters playing and that loneliness would hit me like a punch to the gut.

I noticed a couple of boys, slightly younger than me I guessed. They were playing ball, tossing it to each other. I watched them for a while, smiling at their laughter as they had fun. I was itching to join in, to do something normal like playing catch. One threw it too far and it landed at my feet, I was still sitting with my back to the tree that had been home for the past two nights. I picked the ball up, stood and walked towards them. They smiled at me and I smiled back.

“You wanna play?” one said. I nodded my head.

“Throw the ball,” the other called out, jogging backwards and raising his arm, ready to catch the ball in his mitt.

It was nice to hear someone talk to me. That was until their dad appeared. He snatched the ball from me and without a word, grabbed the two boys by the hand. One child looked over his shoulder as he was hauled away and he gave me a small smile. Despite my promise never to cry again, I couldn’t stop the tear that rolled down one cheek. I angrily wiped it away. I had no idea what I looked like, what condition my hair was in or how dirty my face was - there were no mirrors on the street. Those boys hadn’t been bothered by how I looked; they had just wanted to play with me.

“Fuck you,” I screamed to their retreating backs. “Fuck you all.”

That day I hardened my heart. I would survive. I would shoplift and fucking enjoy it. I would wipe my family from my mind and fucking enjoy it. I would fight if I had to and fucking enjoy it. No one would ever see my heartache again.

That one simple act of dragging those children away from me, and I was no more than a child myself, confirmed one thing - no one was going to help me.

I had no choice but to toughen up and help myself.

We had only driven a short distance when the blue flashing lights of a cop car lit up the inside of ours...

“What do you want to do, bro?” I asked. If we’d been aware of their presence in time I probably could have outrun them.

“Pull over, let’s see what they want?”

I pulled the car to the kerb and waited. A cop tapped on my side window.

“Permit,” he said.

I handed it through the open window and he took a while studying it.

“Exist the car, slowly, both of you,” we were instructed.

Two police officers, who had obviously been waiting, gestured for us to get out of the car. As I did one of them grabbed me by the arm and slammed me face first on the hood. He pulled my arms behind my back and cuffed me. Robert and I looked over at each other; he gave a very slight nod of his head. Being picked up by the cops had always been his worst nightmare, but that nod told me he was okay. I wasn’t too worried, the police could do nothing to me, I was too old to be sent back to New York.

In silence they placed me into the back of a car, with Robert in another, and we were driven back to the station. The only thing I told them was my name and address as they booked me. Still cuffed, they marched me along a grey corridor. The walls, the floor, the metal doors to cells were all the same depressing colour. Apparently cheerfulness was not the look they were going for.

They released my wrists as they closed the cell door behind me. I rubbed at them, a little pissed at the unnecessary tightness of the cuffs. I could walk from one end of the cell to the other in four paces. Robert was going to freak - not that he was claustrophobic, but he hated confinement. I flipped the stained mattress against the wall, sat on the metal frame of the cot and waited. Eventually I was taken by a cop, again in silence, to an interview room. I sat and smiled at the sour-faced female guarding the door. He cheeks coloured a little.

A few minutes later she was replaced by one of the cops that had pulled us over, and his sidekick.

“Travis, my name is Detective Mallory…”

I cut him off. “Can you tell me why I’m being held here?”

“Joey Morietti has implicated you in a rather nasty assault,” he replied.

I raised my eyebrows. “Really? And when did this assault take place?”

“Earlier this evening, the police were called to Sibley Memorial after he was admitted. It appears he has suffered some serious injuries. Know anything about that?”

“Not a thing, been at the club all night, want the address?”

After I had given him the address and he’d written it down, he handed it to the sidekick who left the room; the door was guarded once more by sourpuss. She kept her gaze firmly fixed to the wall above my head.

“Your friend, Robert, gives a different location for your whereabouts this evening,” he tried.

“Then he may have had one too many,” I replied.

“What can you tell me about Joey?”

“Not much, don’t really know him.”

“We know you work for his father,” came the response.

“Doesn’t mean I know who assaulted his son, if he has been assaulted, of course.”

“So what do you do for Guiseppi Morietti?” he asked.

“Collect rent, as I’m sure you already know. Now, shall we get back to the shocking news of his son? What happened to him?”

Detective Mallory stared at me, I gave him a smile. He reminded me of Goon, in fact, such was the resemblance they could have been related.

“Do you have a brother?” I asked.

~ ~ ~

A wooden bedstead dominated the room, its mattress in a cloth protector, and on either side of the bed were small nightstands. I sat on the bed and looked at Alison standing in the middle of the room. She stared straight back at me. No words were spoken as she took the few steps required before she was standing between my knees. Her hands cupped either side of my face. I ran my hands up her legs, catching her dress and raising it. She leant down for a kiss.

Her lips gently pressed against mine. I opened my mouth and my tongue tangled with hers. My hands had come to rest on her hips and I held them fast while pulling her closer to me. I could feel the lace of her panties under my fingers. Our kiss deepened; I was hungry for her.

I stood, and as I did I raised the dress over her head. She wore a matching lace panty and bra set, somehow that pleased me; I’d hoped she had dressed for the evening. Her tanned skin set off the white of the lace. She reached forward and unknotted my tie, sliding it from my collar, and with an agonising slow pace she undid the buttons of my shirt. Her hands brushed against my chest, lower and lower as each button was popped open. While she unbuckled my belt I shrugged the shirt from my shoulders, letting it fall in a heap on the floor. Alison ran her fingers around the waistband of my pants, her nails scraping gently against my skin. She popped the button, undid the zip and with my pants in her fists, she lowered them as she sunk to her knees.

Ashley's 5 STAR Review:

Another important player in the Fallen Angels series tells their story. We finally find out about the quiet and reclusive Travis. A story I have been waiting to read! Of course, Tracie Podger did not disappoint us fans!!

Travis is Robert's brother and most trusted ally. Hearing their story from Travis's heartbreaking point of view made this book bittersweet. While Robert has always held himself more reserved, Travis was naive. Travis showed us his vulnerable side, from childhood to young man. With Robert and Evelyn's help, he turned his street smarts and loyalty into a life he could be proud of. His only missing piece is someone to share that life with.

It is no secret I'm a huge fan of Ms. Podger and her novels. This is definitely no exception. My heart opened up even more to Travis and his life. I was especially heart broken when he showed his vulnerability towards Robert shortly after meeting Brooke. That showed us readers what type of soul and heart Travis possess. That scene has become a favorite of mine from the entire series.

Travis is not to be missed if you have read the Fallen Angel series. It compliments the bigger picture of Robert and Brooke, casting their family bond even tighter.

5-Star Reader Reviews....

This book was brilliant and intense. I felt Travis’ anger, fear, resentment and love to his “family” ie, Robert, Evelyn and Joe. He is a multifaceted character. He has all the usual emotions you would expect from one who has had a rough start in life but he is also fiercely loyal and protective to those he loves. He is also HOT and sexy and is incredibly charismatic. Yes, that is why I love him! This lovely by the incredibly talented Tracie Podger gets five stars from me. (But in my heart it deserves 100!)  ~ Kerry-Ann (Kez's Corner)
This book is simply spectacular. It tells the story of Travis, one of the pivotal characters in The Fallen Angel Series. I defy anyone to not fall in love with Travis from his turbulent childhood, through his journey of self discovery and sexual awareness! It's a compelling, gripping story that grabs a hold of you immediately. This author has the unique talent of completely immersing you in her world with her descriptive and enthralling words. Travis will live in my heart always... ~ Karen S.

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.

Author Bio

I've spent many years crafting stories in my brain. Finally, after the encouragement from those that love and support me the most, I put my first story out by self-publishing in 2013.

That first milestone created a writing monster in me that couldn't be stopped and filled a void I cannot explain. Each story is a true gift from my heart and a sacrifice from my soul, since I find it difficult to let the characters go.

At home in Texas, my husband and I share our life with children that mean the world to us and include a couple of fur babies. When we aren't busy watching sports and betting on the game, we are entertaining with friends.

I do have a writing cave, but honestly, most of my work comes from the kitchen, the heartbeat of any home. Since noise doesn't disturb me too much when writing, I can write and keep the pulse on the family at the same time. And... Possibly enjoy my favorite, sinful treat... Cookie dough!

The writer-reader world is my lifeline. I'm addicted and each time I get a message from a reader, I'm thrilled. There's quite a few stories planned for the next several months. I'm hoping the readers fall in love with my next series, The Creek Series. A story that is guaranteed to bring out all the emotions.

If you've read my books, thank you! It truly means the world.

Excerpt
I run my fingertips over the blue-and-silver paintwork as I walk toward the back end. Bending over, I start poking around, taking a look at the engine.

“Please tell me that you’re my birthday present.”

The Irish drawl has the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end.

I turn my head to find Carrick Ryan standing behind me.

Oh. Wow.

He’s definitely better looking in the flesh than on television. I knew he was attractive. But blonds aren’t usually my thing. I’m more of a dark-hair-and-dark-eyes kind of girl.

But his dirty-blond hair, blue eyes laced with sin, and full lips—the kind of lips you spend hours sucking on—and that chiseled jaw decorated with stubble…yep, it all seems to be working for me. Well, my body anyway. Definitely not my head. Man-sluts are not my thing.

My eyes meet with his as he lifts them from blatantly staring at my arse. The look in them hits me straight in the gut, surprising the hell out of me. His eyes are profoundly blue and filled with heat. My skin starts to prickle as his intense stare burns me up.

I’ve never had such an instant visual reaction to a man before.

Fuck.

Take it easy, Andi. This isn’t a problem. You’ve met good-looking men before. You can turn this off. Drivers are a no-go area, especially ones you work for.

My job is too important to lose over a man.

Straightening, I turn to face him.

“Hello,” I say in my most confident and formal voice.

I get nothing back, and that’s because he hasn’t heard me. He’s too busy staring at my breasts.

Typical man.

I have the sudden urge to punch him in his handsome face.

But I won’t because I’m a professional. I’ll handle this in the best way I know when it comes to dealing with pervy dickheads like him.

“It’s your birthday?” I say sweetly, my smile a little on the flirtatious side.

He grins. “It sure is, and it’s definitely looking up now that you’re here. Are you going to make it extra special for me, sugar?”

He thinks he’s about to get lucky.

Far from it. Smarmy twat.

I tilt my head to the side, keeping the flirty smile on my face, as I walk up to him until there’s very little space between us. I press my fingers to his chest. God, that’s firm. I can feel the ridge of his muscles underneath my fingertips.

He’s tall, too, a good few inches higher than my five-nine. I’d say he’s six-one, which is tall for a driver, but he’s lean. He needs to be to fit into those cars. I bet, under those clothes of his, there’s nothing but toned muscle. Drivers have to be seriously fit, and Carrick Ryan certainly ticks that box on both counts.

Now, I’m imagining him naked. Great. Just fucking great.

I force my focus back to the now. “Well…” I lean in closer to him, hearing him suck in a sharp breath. I lower my voice as I whisper, “If you ever call me sugar again, you won’t see your next birthday. That’s for sure.”

He tilts his head back in amusement. “Feisty. I like it.”

I take a step back, dropping my hand from his chest. “There’s nothing here for you to like.”

His eyes run the length of me, lingering on my legs, the lusty look firing in them again. “I see plenty to like. Jesus…your legs go on forever.”

I wish I had something to hide my legs behind. Instead, I fold my arms to bring his focus up. “I’m not your type.”

Lifting his eyes back to mine, he gives me a confident smile. “Amazing arse. Great stems. Awesome rack. Beautiful face. Yep”—he nods—“you’re definitely my type.”

Cover Reveal

Title: the story of Lansing Lotte Author: L.B. Dunbar Genre: Contemporary Romance Release Date: April 28, 2015

synopsis2 I get it. I’ve heard the jokes. My name sounds like some medieval character who was a hero. Hell, my best friend’s named Arturo King. Ring any medieval bells? But this is my story and I’m no hero. I also get the jokes. Lansing Lotte is a play on the words lance and lot. And a lance refers to a sword which is a euphemism for dick. What does a man do with his dick? He screws. A lot. So if my name is Lansing Lotte, I must be fucking lot. Get it? Fucking a lot. Which I’m not saying I don’t. That’s not the point. Another reference to something sexual. Get my point? Huh, I made a punny. But again this is my story, and I haven’t done anything funny. In fact, I’ve killed three women, and only one of them I loved. Yeah, that’s right. Not laughing now. It’s not funny. And I’m definitely no fucking hero. amazon 58ec7-add-to-goodreads-button-2 11026416_1584660085085078_888497514_n PLAYLIST: The Story of Lansing Lotte: Playlist “Toxic” - Britney Spears “Come a Little Closer” - Cage the Elephant “One Year, Six Months” – Yellowcard “Broken (feat. Both of them. The night before was a fuzzy mash of images in my brain, as I recalled the concert. My band, The Nights, were rocking The Round Table something fierce and the crowd was thumping. I remembered the muted bright lights and the energy of the music I produced on my guitar next to the lead singer and my best friend, Arturo King, while the girls screamed in response to Arturo’s voice. Regardless of Arturo’s recent engagement, the ladies still loved the Chivalrous Lover. They equally called out for me and my guitar playing as well though, and I loved the attention. There was no better high than the cry of a crowd cheering you on. On the opposite side of the stage, focused on his bass guitar was Tristan Lyons. He had model-like features and his nickname was the Heartbreaker. He went through girls like they were food to be savored and devoured, and his followers were nicknamed flavors. He enjoyed the variety of woman who came his way and he never dappled in the same flavor twice. Behind us had been Perkins Vale, who the band called Perk, and his enthusiasm for playing the drummers equaled his name. He was big and often played with his shirt off, exposing the detailed tattoo of a shield on his chest and across his left shoulder. His dark short hair shoved to his head, gave the impression of someone serious and intense, but he was the contrary. That’s why things went askew. I remembered Arturo and Perk having some kind of conversation between their eyes, but I was more focused on the fact that Mel Agent had somehow gotten into The Round Table. Last night was a private function as a fundraiser for women of domestic violence hosted by none other than Arturo’s mother, Ingrid Tintagel, and her foundation WomenFirst. Mel Agent was the lead singer of a rival band, who had become his own entity and now one of the Night’s sworn enemies. I despised the man for his behavior toward women and at that moment he seemed to be interested in a young thing with jet black hair. She didn’t look like the typical girl to be in the club. She didn’t look like the typical girl to follow a band. Her oversized army jacket covered her small body and her delicate hands clenched the coat closed over her chest. Mel Agent looked deep in conversation with the girl who was holding her own, but that’s when Arturo’s dark eyes started addressing Perk. Only the practiced ear of the band knew that Perk slipped as he played. He was off a beat for just a second, but recovered quickly. I was trying to question Arturo with my own unspoken glance, but Arturo was too focused on Perk. When the set ended, Arturo and Perk immediately hit the side stage. Both men moved quickly through the crowd, parting ways as I realized that Guinevere DeGrance was in the path of Mel Agent as well. I felt that familiar ping in my heart, and I looked away before I could see the guilt in Guinevere’s eyes. I was quick to follow them and pull Guinevere from Mel’s immediate vicinity. It seemed I was continually saving her from that man. Tristan had grabbed Arturo and was forcing him back as well. We didn’t need an altercation in the middle of the crowd, and Perk seemed to have the situation under control. A situation that clearly involved trying to free another woman from under the evil intentions of Mel Agent. I waited in the wings with Tristan and Arturo as Arturo barked out orders to give him my bike and for Tristan to take Guinie home. I knew Arturo sensed something between Guinie and I, and he refused to ask me for help when it came to her. Arturo paused for only a moment to continue what looked like an argument with his girlfriend, no his fiancée, before Perk and he disappeared completely, leaving Tristan and I to entertain the endless questions of where had the other two gone. Tristan and I could hold our own, though, and we did, with continuous shots and free flowing drinks. I was sure that’s how I ended up here – in bed. I tried to open my eyes which seemed too heavy. The pressure on my temples was a rhythm stronger than Perk’s drumming, but the feeling of warmth and moisture on my lower head made me moan. The suction increased and I felt my leaden hands travel into the hair of my capturer. I could remember snapshots of the night and the countless women leaning up against me. The laughter of female voices and the whispers of desire in my ear were muted by the loud sound of the other bands playing in the background. The numerous lips burned my skin subtly on my cheek and neck from stolen kisses by aggressive fan-girls. I had only wanted one girl to be a fan. And she was refusing. I was awakening slowly and the dream I was having moments before I regained consciousness was still visible in my mind. Fresh lips were on mine. Hands entwined in soft hair. Sounds moaned of pleasure. I had a vague sense that some of the dream had been a reality, but I couldn’t bring my mind to focus clearly on whether any of it had been true. I should have been ashamed. She was. She was embarrassed by how she responded to me. I had responded to her years before, and I had never forgotten. Despite her denying now that the first kiss had been intense, I knew she was lying. She kissed me back after all that happened, and I wanted her. I couldn’t help it. As my hands gripped female hair gently and finger nails tickled my hips, my eyes began to peel open. I took in the dim sunlight beginning to break the darkness in the room. The ceiling was grayed in shadow, and I rotated my head on a soft pillow to get a whiff of stale roses and observe the light pink of sheets. My eyes opened fully as I realized I didn’t recognize the room painted in a pale rose color and accented with frilly curtains over the shade covered window. My eyes traveled down my naked body to the head of my temptress. Her hair fell forward, veiling her as she worked me with her mouth. My hands coiled in her hair; I couldn’t quite distinguish the color. My concentration returned to what this temptress was doing between my legs and I let my eyes roll back as I dreamt of the woman who kissed my mouth with lush lips now using those lips to suck me off. I was ready to burst and I tightened my clasp of her hair, warning her softly with the words I’m ready. As the liquid strength in me ejected down her throat, I growled like a prayer, “Fuck, Guinie,” as I looked down at the head over my manhood to meet green eyes, not blue. “Elaine?” I questioned. authorbio2 L.B. Dunbar loves to read to the point it might be classified as an addiction. The past few years especially she has relished the many fabulous YA authors, the new genre of New Adult, traditional romances, and historical romances. A romantic at heart, she’s been accused of having an overactive imagination, as if that was a bad thing. Author of the Sensations Collection, Sound Advice, Taste Test, Fragrance Free, Touch Screen, and the upcoming Sight Words, she is also author of the Legendary Rock Star series, beginning with The Legend of Arturo King. When not writing, she’s usually driving one of her four growing children somewhere. She grew up in Michigan, but has lived in Chicago for longer, calling it home with her husband and children. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I’d like to say I was always a writer. I’d also like to say that I wrote every day of my life since a child. That I took the teaching advice I give my former students because writing every day improves your writing. I’d like to say I have my ten-thousand hours that makes me a proficient writer. But I can’t say any of those things. I did dream of writing the “Great American Novel” until one day a friend said: Why does it have to be great? Why can’t it just be good and tell a story? As a teenager, I wrote your typical love-angst poetry that did occasionally win me an award and honor me with addressing my senior high school class at our Baccalaureate Mass. I didn’t keep a journal because I was too afraid my mom would find it in the mattress where I kept my copy of Judy Blume’s Forever that I wasn’t allowed to read as a twelve year old. I can say that books have been my life. I’m a reader. I loved to read the day I discovered “The Three Bears” as a first grader, and ever since then, the written word has been my friend. Books were an escape for me. An adventure to the unknown. A love affair I’d never know. I could be lost for hours in a book. So why writing now? I had a story to tell. It haunted me from the moment I decided if I just wrote it down it would go away. But it didn’t. Three years after writing the first draft, a sign (yes, I believe in them) told me to fix up that draft and work the process to have it published. That’s what I did. But one story let to another, and another, and another. Then a new idea came into my head and a new storyline was created. I was accused (that’s the correct word) of having an overactive imagination as a child, as if that was a bad thing. I’ve also been accused of having the personality of a Jack Russell terrier, full of energy, unable to relax, and always one step ahead. What can I say other than I have stories to tell and I think you’ll like them. If you don’t, that’s okay. We all have our book boyfriends. We all have our favorites. Whatever you do, though, take time for yourself and read a book. L.B.
